Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a colorful mix of characters, and a gripping narrative featuring celestial beings, fiends, and dark forces growing in influence within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the third episode of the new season follow below.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
The third episode finished on a major cliffhanger and revealed the first table of characters who will separate from the central cast to begin their separate journey, separate from the remaining groups.
This warrior group consists of Teor (portrayed by Travis), the agile character (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), the cleric (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Considering 13 cast members, it was evident from the outset that having everyone at one table would be unworkable.
That’s why, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Prelude, connecting the characters’ stories before splitting into three separate parties: Fighters, Planners, and Seekers.
What Defines the Combat Party
As described by the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who enjoy a typically action-packed fight-heavy gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
Upon first impression, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might appear unsuited, but the events of episode 3 demonstrate why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
First, the party knows exactly where to head next after a brutal first encounter with the antagonists.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose death initiated the campaign’s events—used The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, breaking into the secret base, striking the rogue, and swiping all the enchanted items to auction.
The antagonist then cleared his obligations and fled to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, above the city, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each character has a specific drive to exit Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the companion and trusted friend, wants retribution.
- Kattigan has experience in the northern area and advises that it is a dangerous place.
- The strong character and The cleric, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to kill Teor and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- But, their status as key figures in House Halovar could assist the team access locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Moreover, The fighter swore a eternal obligation to The savior for his deliverance and will now go with him everywhere.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are sought by the authorities that rule Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The rogue and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and Wicander defied the powerful family and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by the family.
This leaves them no alternative but to journey toward Timmony in quest for Casimir.
Upcoming Developments
Based on episode three’s follow-up content, we learn that the warrior group will be absent the following episode, leaving the remaining eight cast members to round up the Questers and Planners parties.
