19 of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been won on hard courts

A comeback the Russian player claimed his initial title for nearly 30 months with success over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.

Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid season, winning just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a meltdown at the American major.

His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his service game in especial - led to him falling of the elite rankings and finally separating with long-term trainer Gilles Cervara.

Now working with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the past month - culminating in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This represents the player's maiden championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hardcourt after spring of the previous year.

Success also indicates Medvedev has secured 21 victories at 21 different competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my children simultaneously, so to win a championship is particularly special," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in honour of my younger daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I got when my first daughter her name was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his past six title deciders, including in Halle previously this season.

The player's defensive strategy and recurring reactions on the playing surface had caused observers to doubt if his ability to play at the elite level was concluded.

However the 29-year-old has made changes in the last few weeks, attempting to come to the net and perform aggressively, reinforced by an improved service.

Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult opponent, winning 4 of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.

The competitors traded service breaks in the following set before the challenger, attempting for his initial ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to force a decider.

He rescued four early-game opportunities in a tight third set before the Russian won the break to 15 to secure the win.

Appropriately, Medvedev secured the win with a rally at the net, with his opponent incapable to control a return after over two and a half hours.
