I'll overwhelm 'credible boxer' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.

Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.

Former two time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mindset

"I plan to injure his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of such comments, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead attacked ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Still, the novice remains one of the sport's biggest financial successes, regularly earning huge earnings.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently in the works for 2026.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.

Size Difference

As Joshua and Paul met for the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity evident, it drove home just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really going ahead.
